Here we are, Day 30. I was out looking for a skyline shot of Denver however with the storm moving into the mountains the afternoon light was not going to be too good today. As I was standing on the 16th Avenue bridge leading to the Platte Valley I looked up and noticed the manner the post was against the blue sky and snapped off some images. Looking back on the thirty days, this is a good ending to the series since it shows us on Day 30 the sky is the limit.

Sometimes called the Taj Mahal or one of the many other nicknames it is known, the image for today is the Jefferson County Administration Building located in Golden, Colorado. I am sure even people from out of the area have noticed this building when heading to the mountains to enjoy the skiing at Vail, Beaver Creek, Aspen or one of the many other ski areas near Interstate 70. The building has many architectural elements but the western side with the afternoon light and the many windows drew my attention today. It was just over five years ago when I spent almost a month serving jury duty here and noticed the details each morning when reporting, so as the thirty days nears a close Day 29 has been served.

Was at Cheesman Park today taking some images right as the sun went behind the mountains. I thought I had some images which would be good, but upon looking at them after getting home I wasn’t too happy with the results. I started playing with a couple of them in Lightroom and on one got a little crazy with the adjustments which changed the picture dramatically. This provided a perspective which I thought would be good enough to pass the grain for Day 28.

Last evening as I went to bed I noticed the light of my cell phone on the night stand casting a shadow and decided this could be something to explore. Of course, I was quite tired and didn’t know how much light was being dispensed. This evening I set up a tripod and tried to recreate the situation, but it did not quite work out as I remembered it last evening. Instead I started to paint the lamp with the light from the mobile phone and dialed in the image for Day 27 with a thirty second exposure.

Prior to leaving San Diego today, I was enjoying the warm temperatures and snapped off some pictures of my niece. There were times during my visit she loved the camera and other moments when she walked the other way. However this time she was happy to be around the camera and is the Day 26 image.

The light was a little flat this morning which lead me into the walkway which makes up the image for today. Using the outline of the early morning pedestrian to show the walkway was the thought to give it a little bit of more life.

So many pictures were taken today. From a morning out in downtown San Diego, to a day at Sea World with my niece and then some evening photography with a high school friend leading to a difficult decision when selecting todays image. The decision became apparent as I was on the beach near the Hotel Del Coronado and all I could hear is the music from the ice skating rink as well as the joys of excitement from those ice skating as I looked south towards Tijuana. My thoughts immediately started to contrast the difference of the sounds I was hearing versus the lights of a different culture so close this evening. I could probably write much more about this feeling, however now it is time to present Day 24 to you.

Going outside I noticed the full moon rising over Cowles Mountain. By the time I gathered a camera and tripod it had risen a little too high from where I first noticed it and the size of the full moon, however I was able to frame the following shot from the front courtyard. So look up in the sky as the image for Day 23 has risen…

Thanksgiving Day 2007 is here, and it found me once again shooting sunrise from Coronado. Spending some equal time on the Hotel and City sides of Coronado I used the foliage to show the growing cityscape of San Diego. Now it is time to spend Thanksgiving with the family as well as the food so enjoy Day 22.

This morning I went back to the scene of the mosquito attack on Day 18 to see the subject with morning light. Fortunately there were not any mosquitoes present this morning and for a while, I did get some nice light until the clouds presented the area with soft light. So 21 days are done, leaving less than ten days to go with the following image.
