After a long day of shooting I turned to walk back to the car and noticed the potential for this image. Playing with the angle of the hill with the boulders on the concern here was to get all of them under the ridge of the mountain in the distance. Unfortunately the sunset itself was obscured by some clouds which did not move far enough south during the day but the last shutter click of the day it is now the Day 20 image.

Exploring the eastern coast of the Salton Sea, I ended the day on the North Shore. Fortunately there were not any rooms available at this hotel, so I had to keep on moving north for the evening. The main theme of today was what used to be, as there were many opportunities to photograph items which use to be used at housing, motels or even a yacht club. There should be more of this tomorrow, however until then enjoy Day 19.

With the sounds of hunting close by I found this image at the Salton Sea. I was hoping for the post sunset color to highlight this picture more so, but with the mosquitoes biting and the shots nearby I decided to go down the road a little bit to capture images after sunset. However as this image was going to be my subject, I have included it as Day 18.

It’s interesting what can happen to an image if the white balance is off a little bit. The following is taken in Southern California and the red glow is a bit ominous since this background is near an open space canyon. However it was only the light of the city reflecting off the marine layer which moved in a little this evening.

How many times have you walked into a room where it has only been illuminated by a digital clock. As I was thinking of an image this evening I encountered this and something made me take the photograph of the LCD display with nothing else. So with a little over an hour left in Day 16 I had the following photograph.

While watching the Arizona Wildcats play this evening against Oregon, I thought about the image for today and came up with the concept for this image. This marks the 15th day of the project and I can say I am learning quite a bit in these past days.

I was just taking the garbage out to the dumpster and on my short trip back I noticed the sun hitting the area above the garage. The shadows of the power lines were helping the image and in to grab my camera I went. I probably could have spent a good amount of time with the texture and the shadows of the lines but came away with the following photograph for Day 14.

This morning I walked up to the Civic Park area to drop off some paperwork with the City and County of Denver. On the way home I stopped by the library and grabbed a book which once getting home was set down on the kitchen counter. While grabbing a snack in the afternoon, I noticed the afternoon light shining on the book and fetched a camera to grab today’s image. Extra credit if anyone knows the title of the book.

Today I was thinking there would be some good colors at sunset based on the clouds hanging around mid-afternoon after a front moved through earlier in the day. As sunset came closer and closer the clouds were no where to be seen forcing me to make a quick change of locations. The image below was not the first image I was thinking about from this new location, but after looking at this scene it just became apparent this would be the photograph for Day 12.

Day eleven, which is also Veteran’s Day here in the United States. As it was Veteran’s Day, I made an early morning trip to Fort Logan National Cemetery for the morning light. While I was walking through the rows and rows of tombstones within the cemetery I noticed a flag in the distance which prompted to make my way there. Once at the location, the challenge was to photograph the scene with the shadows hiding much of the detail of the headstone. Just as I was getting ready to try a different image, the wind picked up and put the flag in motion allowing me to capture the below photograph.
