Almost missed today’s image but once I remembered I had not taken an image I quickly found a subject and shot exactly one image. I figured if I was trying to find a subject, lets see what happens with just one frame taken as well. Hopefully tomorrow I will get out and about to capture an image.

After spending much of the day working on some of the paperwork which needed to be done, I figured it would be appropriate to photograph the monitor for today’s image. Most people have stared at an empty Word document many times and here is my version.

As today is my sisters birthday I decided to make it the subject of todays picture for Day 7. Of course as she is out in NorCal these are not the candles used on her birthday cake but it stills captures the essence of the event.

It was time for groceries today, and as I finished unpacking the bags and tossing them to the other side of the room when empty I noticed how the bags were stacking. A closer look had me identify the recycle symbol and the box next to this label which was interesting to me. So I grabbed the camera and came away with todays image.

Today I decided to try something different and headed to the Logan Street bridge which crosses I-25 in the area commonly referred to as “the narrows”. Unfortunately the steel bars on the bridge are not the most conducive to photography, or more so they prevent you from effectively using your tripod when trying to take an image of the freeway below. Of course photographers were their last concern when designing the protection along the bridge. After many different approaches with the tripod in different spots I was able to place the tripod in a location to let me capture the following image.

While it may not have turned out as I had hoped, I learned something today with this type of image and may try some similar ones with other subjects in the near future.

Day four of the thirty days brings us to some work done for the Denver franchise of College Hunks Hauling Junk. In a little more than an hour’s time this morning over two hundred images were taken. In the image shown here Nathaniel and Grady pose by the truck at the shoot location just west of Denver.

Day three brings us to Red Rocks located in Morrison, Colorado. It was quite a busy morning at the amphitheater with many people running the stairs as well as other activities. Even with all the activity, I was able to capture a lone runner making their way back and forth across the rows on a pleasant November morning.

Todays image was taken while starting to install a new garbage disposal. The process of deciding a new disposal is a story of its own, but we will save that for a different time. Bringing my camera with me underneath the sink I took some pictures through the drain opening and was fighting the limited space and composition. After taking a break from being in the small space, I was standing next to the new disposal and found the following composition. The resulting image was changed to black and white to complete the industrial look of the image, with no other digital changes.

P.s. If you have not ever replaced a disposal you will thank me for not using the old disposal for my subject.

Today I was at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield, Colorado and captured an image looking towards Denver. Even though the sun was in a position which made it difficult to shoot, in addition to the haze which had set in the area I thought the positioning of the aircraft and the discussion of the two individuals told a story in itself.
