While driving home from gallery nrc, I turned the corner and found the following scene. The evening light drew me in and I debated on whether to let the traffic go by on Tennyson Street or leave it as found below.
It was a nice day in Denver and as I headed downtown for a Denver Chamber of Commerce event, I grabbed my camera to take some pictures along the way. Approaching the capitol building I thought about some different angles which could be a possibility on the One Mile Above Sea Level image which was taken in 2008. As I got low I looked at different angles and in the dusk like the perspective of the angle view to find the image for Day 19.
During the course of the Thirty Days project there is always one or two days where the mind is thinking of items to photograph and on that day you just head down the street to see what you can find. Today was one of those days.
As I headed out for some errands around sunset, I had my camera with me and just liked the look of the straight line heading east along Ninth Avenue. Sometimes a shot just comes when you are out walking, instead of worrying about what to shoot and that is why it is good to have a camera with you for those moments.
Most of the snow of the weekend is long gone, but in a few areas the snow still remains. One place where this is true is my alley in Denver. Today was almost a day where an image was not taken but late in the evening I used the street light in the alley to help light up some of those snowy areas. With the slower shutter speed I moved the camera to create a little of a motion blur and the Day 17 image.
After the snow of the weekend, I headed up to Cheesman Park in Denver to see how much of it remained from the warmer temperatures. Most of the fresh snow of Sunday morning had been walked through but there were still a few areas which people or animals did not make part of their path through the park.
The snow continued to fall this morning in the Denver metro area and I decided to take advantage of it and walk into the downtown area to see the results of about 6 inches of snow. As I started my lap home I walked past the Denver Arts Center and the sculpture by Jonathan Borofsky titled ‘The Dancers’. The snow covered lawn which surrounds the sculpture first drew my interest and then as I got closer to the Dancers, I noticed the metal of the Denver Convention Center which brought the following composition for the Day 15 image.

It was a quiet day at gallery nrc, which is mainly due to the weather and the downtime between a couple of systems bringing snow. One thing we have done at Tennyson Studios is tone down the amount of energy being used on a daily basis. Some lights we using for First Friday were being triggered every evening as dusk approached, when they were not really needed. As I looked down the building I saw the plug hanging there from some string lights and captured the Day 14 image.
Friday the 13th found a transition day in Denver weather wise. The nice warm days we had earlier this week are gone and some snow is on the horizon. This morning I walked up the street to Berkeley Park and brought my camera with me. At the park some of the tennis courts were resurfaced earlier in the fall from the traditional green courts which are common in most parks. I noticed leaves lying around the court and looked for one which was on a line. On the first court I found a leaf which was on the baseline and sort of on it’s own versus some of the other compositions I looked into photographing. The image for today is this lone leaf which now in the afternoon has probably blown across town in the wind.
In Denver there are many parks, and on a nice November day I had a late afternoon lunch in the park. Of course as many people in Denver know, there are some parks which have some stories and you wonder the background behind the parks, but for the afternoon I enjoyed the weather and found the following image as I ate and headed back to gallery nrc.
Today the new website dpBestflow went live which is in conjunction with a seminar being held in Washington DC this evening. The goal of the website is to provide a guide of every aspect of the digital workflow which is now common place for photographers.
