Located at 833 Santa Fe just south of downtown Denver, the gallery will be open from 6pm – 10pm showing the work of the various artists who contributed work, including myself. Today I particpated in a shared gallery show at Bentwave Gallery and Studio in the Tennyson District of Denver. Even though the cooler months are here there was still a good turnout. The photographs with the white matting in the below image were some of mine on display this evening.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow for Day 8 of Thirty Days 2008.

Yesterday evening I had the chance to make it to the Working with Artists Member Show, which runs through this coming Saturday September 5th. As I mentioned in my prior post about the Working with Artists Member Show , WWA is located at Bel Mar in Lakewood, Colorado. They are open Noon – 8pm through Friday of this week, and until 6pm on Saturday however there is a gathering of the artists on Saturday to discuss the pieces which may change the availability.
When I was looking at the many pieces of work on display I found there are some quite talented photographers showcased in the show, and if you get a chance I recommend stopping by WWA in the next couple of days to check it out. My piece on display, Snowy May Day , is facing east.

This Friday August 1st, the third annual Working With Artists Member Show opens with a reception from 6-9PM. Located as part of Block 7 in the Belmar Shopping District , Working with Artists is a non-profit organization focusing on the photographic arts. Providing classes for children and adults in studio and digital photography as well as their FLASH Gallery, WWA offers an opportunity to build photographic knowledge in the Denver metro area.
The piece I will be showing as part of the show is Snowy May Day , featured in May on the blog. The image was taken on May 1st, in Denver’s Washington Park during a spring snow storm. It has been quite well received by visitors to the website as well as those who saw my promo card in the mail. One of the comments I always get when someone sees the promo card is that they didn’t realize it was in color since they only saw it on the website. Be sure to stop by and check out the framed version and see for yourself, as well as the many other images displayed as part of the members show.
If you can’t make it on August 1st, the show runs through September 6th. FLASH Gallery is located at 445 South Saulsbury in Lakewood, Colorado and is open Noon-8PM Tuesday through Friday and Noon-6PM on Saturday and Sunday.

You may have extra non-perishable food lying around, unused toiletries or just finished cleaning out some of those closest leaving you with a stack of clothing to donate. This Saturday June 21st is a day you can easily donate these items as the summer drive of 9Cares Colorado Shares takes place. While this is a smaller event than the winter drive, there will still be many locations on the Denver metro area and Front Range to donate items. Check out the event page for more information or specific locations, and remember every little bit helps.

As I mentioned last week I had some images on display this past Friday during First Friday.
I would like to thank everyone who stopped by 855 Inca and the Atmosphere Creative studio this past Friday. It was an interesting experience to discuss my work as well as other topics with everyone who stopped by the studio.
If you have not done so, I recommend signing up for the Images from Neil Corman Photography E-Mail List to receive notifications of more events like this one in the future, as well as news and discounts.
The following is an image of the prints on display this month.

Thanks again.

During the month of June, I will have some pieces of work on display at the Atmosphere Creative studio located at 855 Inca (one block east of Santa Fe). Once you enter the main door at 855 Inca it is the first studio space on the left which currently is noted by a sign for Jonathan Howie who also displays work at this location.
This space is open on an appointment basis, however during First Friday on June 6th it will be open from 6pm – 9pm. The Art District on Santa Fe features many different artists, and you will find the location on Inca to be convenient to this as well a little laid back with the amount of people in the gallery at any one time. This allows me to talk to more of the people who come through the gallery and answer questions about the work.
If you are planning on attending First Friday, be sure to head over from Santa Fe on 9th and stop at the new Artwork Network location prior to heading to 855 Inca to see a variety of work displayed in the building as well as stop by and say hello to me.
See you Friday!

Today is the first Friday of the month, and in many cities across the United States it means a chance to visit the galleries in an art district which stay open late. Here in Denver we have two areas which have an art walk. The one I will most likely visit this evening in the Santa Fe Art District just south of downtown which has their event from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. There is also an art walk on Tennyson in northwest Denver, however some recent developments could be impacting the viability of this event in the future.
If you are not in Denver, you will find most cities have art walks of their own on the first Friday of the month. This includes Missoula and Art Link Phoenix (one of the largest in the country) as events I have attended in the past. I could provide a complete list, but it would easiest if you just check your daily paper or free weekly alternative publication to see if there is an event in your town. I am sure there is something for almost everyone reading this, so be sure to head on out and check out the galleries in your city this evening.
