When visiting Skater's Cabin at Mendenhall Lake on a November afternoon, I was able to get a different view of Mendenhall Glacier. While it was sunny, there was still a chill in the air and the frozen lake shows that the temperatures were below freezing. While walking along the edge of the lake I could hear and see a couple of wolves across the lake defending their turf. It has been just a few days of clear days and nights with temperatures getting cold so wasn't planning on walking on the lake today but it won't be long until you could do so with caution.
