A new year has begun and I took the opportunity to photograph the first sunrise of 2013 in Denver. Heading to a familiar location I set up my camera and waited in the chilly conditions. I was watching the weather in the days leading up to the new year and it appeared the weather which brought a light dusting of snow on the last morning of 2012 would move on and clearing would start overnight. This was exactly the case as the sun lit up the clouds for a couple of minutes during the first sunrise for the year over the skyline of Denver.
