Located south of Flathead Lake you will find the lower Flathead Valley of Montana. In this area the Mission Mountains sit to the east of the valley floor and Mount Calowahcan, the 6th highest peak in the range, can be seen in the distance.
This barn is quite known by photographers and capturing the scene with some nice light and snow in the mountains is what brought me to the location on this early fall day. As I headed up to the location from Missoula, I found a location which allowed me to position the crops for the end of the growing season in the image as well as the first hints of winter on the peaks of the Mission Mountains.
