During late September of 2006, I was exploring the Colorado mountains and the fall colors. It was quite unexpected but a heavy snowfall also occurred around this time blending the seasons of fall and winter together. As I navigated the mountains in Central Colorado, I started to look at the landscape of the early winter and how the light of September fell onto the mountains. Normally the light we see with the first snowfall is a little later in the season and lights up the mountains in a different manner.
